Loading bay platforms and tunnels by Inkema are custom-designed for each customer to streamline the installation of a loading bay, improve the building’s thermal insulation and increase available storage capacity.

The tunnel and platform system connects the building to the vehicle. The roof of a standard tunnel is made from a special ribbed anti-drip panel and incorporates a slight slope to prevent water accumulation, directing all rainwater towards the front drainage system. Depending on project requirements, the system can be supplied in different configurations:

  • Structure only, allowing the customer to adapt it to the building façade.
  • Sheet metal enclosure.
  • Sandwich panel enclosure.
  • Precast concrete structure.

As mentioned above, there are two types of tunnel and platform systems: standard tunnels and custom-made tunnels.

The first option is the most common. Installing the tunnels outside the building allows for rapid installation, maximises warehouse capacity and provides thermal insulation between the building and the loading point of the loading bay. With our standard tunnels, installation becomes even simpler and faster.

The second type is manufactured according to the specific dimensions required by each customer.

Inkema tunnels are designed for use in warehouses, logistics centres and any company operating a loading bay. For this reason, through a prior assessment, Inkema can determine the tunnel dimensions that best suit the customer’s requirements.
