Loading ramps are an essential component of any loading bay. In simple terms, Inkema loading docks are designed to precisely compensate for the height difference between truck beds and loading platforms. This allows goods to be loaded and unloaded using a single horizontal movement, improving efficiency and safety.
A recent example of this is the installation carried out by Inkema of several loading ramps with hinged lip at the newest facility in Spain operated by XPO Logistics, a global leader in transportation and logistics solutions.
A total of 39 RH1 loading ramps equipped with dual lifting cylinders were installed at the Seville Logistics Activities Zone (ZAL), together with their corresponding sectional industrial doors, protective dock bumpers, and truck guides. The installed loading ramps support loads of up to 6 tonnes and feature a 400 mm hinged lip. The sectional industrial doors were customised to dimensions of 3.5 metres high by 3 metres wide and were supplied with integrated vision panels at the customer’s request.
These facilities are expected to become fully operational within a short period of time.
