The isothermal dock tunnels and dock frames developed by INKEMA have been designed to meet three very specific customer requirements. Firstly, to speed up the installation of a loading dock; secondly, to improve the building’s internal insulation levels; and thirdly, to increase the facility’s storage capacity.
A recent example of this is the installation carried out by INKEMA of several dock tunnels and dock frames with integrated loading ramps at the newest facility operated by Decathlon, one of Spain’s leading sporting goods retailers.
New Decathlon logistics platform completed
Specifically, at the company’s facility in Villadangos del Páramo (León), a total of 28 isothermal dock tunnels with tubular dock frames and integrated RH21 hydraulic loading ramps have been installed. The dock tunnels are clad with 40 mm high-sealing insulated panels, while the roof consists of a specially designed anti-drip profiled panel with a slope that prevents water accumulation by directing it towards the front drainage system. The installed RH21 loading ramps support loads of up to 6 tonnes and feature a 500 mm retractable lip.
In addition to the installation of the dock tunnels and loading ramps, the project also included their corresponding retractable dock shelters, more than 30 sectional doors of various sizes, bolted and painted truck guides, and a set of 28 low-consumption LED traffic lights specifically designed for outdoor use.
The facility is expected to begin full operations within the coming weeks.
